The Omaha Institute for Nonprofit Journalism formed in 2022 with a simple mission — help build a sustainable and equitable future for journalism in Nebraska's largest city.

As traditional media continues to find its footing in the digital marketplace, communities are finding ways to fill the gaps or taking control of their own stories. OINJ, which is recognized as a 501(c)3 by the IRS, helps by identifying, developing and funding these programs so together we can bridge information gaps and build a better Omaha for all.
